Building Update
I had the opportunity to go out to the site and take some picture. Below is a description:
1. This is a picture take from 186 and Wolf Road. Good view from Wolf Road of our building.
2. Driving up road to the front of our building.
3. Standing in the foyer facing the entrance to the office and classroom area.
4. A view of the two classrooms right outside the gymnasium
5. This is the infant nursery room
6. Classrooms all studded out.
7. Looking down the hallway the classrooms on the right and office area on the left. Notice all the duct work on the ceiling.
8. Front view of large adult classroom
9. Side view of the large adult classrooms. Again notice the duct work.
10. Picture taken from 183rd street as you drive up to Orland Parkway.
11. A close up of picture 10.
As John and I were having lunch we talked about the progress. In Johns terminology there is not a lot of show work going on. I mentioned that it took a long time to get the permits and everything but once we got started there was a lot of work being done seemingly overnight. Then we hit a speed bump so to speak and it seems like nothing is getting done. John said that’s what he meant by show work. When the bad weather hits it seems like nothing is getting done because the roofers and brick work grinds to a halt.
I was amazed when I walked into the building. While the roof still needs to be installed they have been doing some work on the interior. The last time I was inside it was just concrete with a lot of water on the floor. Now they have the duct work installed, the sprinklers in place, half of the walls are studded out, ComEd was working out on 183rd and by the west side of the building with one worker on the inside cutting pipe.
While it looks like , from the outside, that not much work is going on, I was pleasantly surprised how much work has been completed on the inside since the last time I went inside.
